People all over the US and Canada are gathering this afternoon to set the Guinness World Record for simultaneous skinny dipping. To celebrate this historic day, I set up a new poll. Vote now!

Shower vs. Bath
On our trip (I’ll post about the trip, I promise!) we discussed bathing habits. When we thought about the people we know, the women of our parents’ and grandparents’ generations tend to take baths and either get their hair done or wash it in the sink. The men of those generations and both genders of our generation tend to take showers for daily cleaning. Baths are more of a luxury designed for relaxation rather than part of one’s morning routine. Are we correct in this? If so, why the difference? I am a showerer, if that’s a word, for a few reasons:
- They are faster than a bath since I don’t need to wait for a tub to fill.
- I feel cleaner since baths leave a soapy residue.
- It’s easier to wash my hair (what hair I have – it doesn’t take long!)
- Showers uses less water and energy.
Sure, they aren’t quite as relaxing as a bath, but I’m utilitarian. Showers get the job done. How do you clean up most often? Vote in my new poll.
Fuel Poll
Newbie’s Gender Poll is now closed. As you might have guess, the results were split 50/50, six votes apiece.
The new poll requires you to do a little math. Figure out how many miles you drive round-trip for your daily commute to work or school. Then divide that by the miles per gallon that your car gets. That answer is how much gas you burn each day by commuting. You can easily calculate the actual cost from there. I’m curious to see these results.
American Idol Poll
Despite my resistance to TV watching and even stronger reluctance to get hooked on a particular show, I did get sucked into American Idol toward the end of the season. (Thanks, Mom!) I watched religiously for a while during the earlier seasons but largely pulled away later. Most of the singers are pretty good but not AMAZING, and without AMAZING it just doesn’t interest me that much. This season one of the remaining singers AMAZES me enough not only to watch but even to buy one of his songs via iTunes. Since tonight is the final night of competitive singing and the big vote, here’s a new AI poll. Who gets your vote: Kris or Adam?
The VCR poll came in almost dead even – 7 YES vs 6 NO. We are in the NO category. Our movie collection is mostly DVDs with one or two Blu-Ray movies. It was a bit sad and weird to toss our VHS tapes a while back, but that’s how technology goes.
VCR Poll
The results of Kissing Poll #2 are in! Of the 15 responses, 9 said they did NOT remember the first and last names of every person they had kissed. Maybe I just didn’t kiss enough people, but I still remember.
The new poll relates to technology, specifically VCRs. Vote on the right side of this page.
Followup Kissing Poll
As you might have seen, 8 of the 15 responses to the first kissing poll said they’d kissed 11 or more people, a higher percentage than I expected. I guess kissing is a popular pastime! In case you’re wondering, I have kissed 6 different (lucky?) ladies, but I’m not naming names except for Jenny.
How about a followup question? Vote to the right!
